Terms of Use

Access to Colorado Residents Directory is subject to these terms. Continued use means you agree to follow them; otherwise, stop using the service.

1. What This Reference Provides

Colorado Residents Directory is privately operated and points readers to public record indexes, agency portals, and historical directories concerning Colorado. Government records stay with their keepers. This service has no government, court, or records-office affiliation.

2. Lawful Use Requirements

Use these pages and their linked sources only in ways permitted by law. In particular, you may not use the service or its results to:

  • Stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or injure another person
  • Find or expose a person shielded by a protection or restraining order
  • Carry out fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, insurance, or housing eligibility
  • Collect or republish large portions of the site's text or design without permission
  • Disrupt the service or try to defeat its security

3. Consumer Reporting Agency Notice

Colorado Residents Directory does not operate as a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Material on these pages and information returned by a linked search tool are not consumer reports. They may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose governed by that statute.

4. Third-Party Services

Government portals and independent services linked here set their own rules and privacy practices. Colorado Residents Directory does not control their content, fees, availability, or handling of information submitted to them.

5. No Warranty

This reference is offered "as is" and as available, without an express or implied warranty. We make no promise that a page is complete, accurate, current, or free from interruption, or that another linked portal will work as expected.

6. Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site's operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss tied to use of this reference or an outside resource, including an action taken after viewing a record.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, and reasonable legal fees that result from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Ownership of Content

Copyright protects the site's original writing, visual design, logo, and layout. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit, but you may not republish whole pages or systematically copy the site's work.

9. Updates

The terms may change when a revised version is posted on this page. Continued use after the revision means you accept the updated terms.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited, with or without notice, when a user violates these terms or interferes with the service.

11. Colorado Law

Colorado law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Public-record requests to Colorado government custodians are separately governed by the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-200.1 to 206; that law does not make this private reference a records custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds one term unenforceable, all remaining terms continue to apply.

13. Contact

Send questions about these terms through the Contact page.
